One of my peonies blossomed with flowers resembling white floppy daisies. I thought I got duped. They're pretty, but the picture on the label showed huge coral peonies, and I was expecting exactly that. Well, I learned something new this week. I learned that not all peonies look alike and just because they look like floppy daisies, it doesn't mean they aren't peonies. Thank you, Googoo. The "floppy daisy", like the one above, is actually a Krinkled White Peony. There are many other types of peonies that aren't necessarily full and round, but they're peonies all the same.
I was at the garden center in line to buy more mulch (ahem, I am the Queen of Mulch) when I spotted three humongous, gigantic, real peonies. They were calling to me, I swear. I tried to look away and think about other things, like the green tea smoothie I was going to down right after lugging the bags of mulch to my car. But, no use. They were the last 3 Sarah Bernhardts and they were destined to be mine.
